The Impact of Video Marketing

If a picture is worth 1,000 words then video is worth 1 MILLION!

The statistics of video marketing are staggering!

As most businesses have finally adopted social media as a traditional means of marketing their product or service, battling for attention has turned into a street fight. Here are a few key statistics to keep in mind.

-Social Video generates 1,200% more shares than text and images combined (Brightcove)

-In 2017, online video will account for 74% of all online traffic (Insivia)

The important factor to keep in mind with video content (and with all content for that matter) is that it must be professional. If you are responsible for your website then chances are you have taken meticulous care in making sure that it represents your brand in the best possible light. I would argue that you need to take even more care with the videos you or your agency are producing. We work with a number of small to medium size organizations that receive an average of 1,000 unique visitors to their website per month. Those same organizations have received over 40,000 views on videos we have produced in just 1 week. The moral of the story is that your videos must fall in line with your overall brand strategy and guidelines as you may have many more eyes on them than your website will ever receive.

Since video marketing is so effective why don’t all companies exploit it?

As with almost anything in life Time & Money are the main factors. 83% of marketers said they would create more video content if there were no obstacles like time, resources, and budget (Buffer)

If this is your issue then you will need to be resourceful. If you don’t have the big budget to let a BIG Agency handle this for you then consider partnering with either a freelance videographer or smaller marketing company that is skilled in video. Many BIG agencies don’t have in-house video production anyway so you will be skipping the markup if you just hire a freelancer or smaller marketing company that has in-house video capability. Then you will just need to be your own creative director and come up with your own video ideas that convey your story. Consider storylines such as highlighting your employees, impact your organization has on the community, video testimonials (WAY Better than written testimonials) and so on! The impact that video has on getting your message out and garnering attention is amazing so don’t miss out on it.

Bottom Line……If you have an impactful story to tell then video is the only way to do it!
